Rans S6 912

£16,000.00

Possibly the most affordable way to get in the sky - with a fresh 12 month permit for a summer of fun!

Microlight OR Group A - Currently reg'd group A - paperwork exercise back to microlight.

For sale is my own personal Rans S6 - I’ve owned the aircraft for just over one year, it has been a stopgap aircraft to keep me in the air whilst funds were required else where.

It’s an excellent short field performer, with 3 stage flaps, currently operated from a 375m strip with plenty to spare at MTOW.

Fitted with the Rotax 912 80hp engine, the sweetest & least stressed of the Rotax line up, she cruises at 80mph with just 4000rpm, burning circa 11lph of mogas - twin 35L wing tanks give impressive range. She will of course fly faster with a higher fuel burn. Climb rate solo is 1000fpm, MTOW circa 800fpm.

Fitted with Trig 8.33 radio, trig transponder & pilot aware, along with all the usual steam gauges & RAM ball mount.

Currently registered as a group A aircraft, but a simple form filling mod to the LAA and can be registered as a microlight.

She is a taildragger, but extremely benign, easier than a Piper Cub to handle, and no worries about the nose leg on rough strips. Rans had a bad rep when they first came out, mainly due to the fact group a pilots were flying them coming straight from 172’s / PA28’s without any familiarisation, they do need rudder work!

An extremely affordable way to get in the air reliably & safely, at less than half the cost of the equivalent sky ranger, with the same engine, avionics & performance specs!
Price includes a complete spare airframe which I picked up as a parts donor for the future.

MTOW - 454kg
Empty - 260kg
Hours - 1010
Engine hours - 1070
Permit - 25/04/26
Priced to sell at £16,000 - Based on a private strip near Bromsgrove, just south of Birmingham.
